I am still in the process of sorting through and scanning slides found in my Dad's attic after he passed away. I continue to be amazed at their significance to certain groups of people out in the world. Two aircraft have been received with great joy at sites attempting to document the existence of the type and were previously unknown in photo form. A couple of others are proving to be a bit more mysterious as they are (as of this writing) proving difficult to track down who was flying them even though it is quite obvious they were flown by someone!
In addition I have found some street scenes from Saigon circa 1967-68 that I find interesting, like stepping into the "way back" machine and looking at a world that exists only in the memories of those who live it. The most amazing part is that the Flickr community has been very helpful in giving names to planes and street locations. Amazing, it really boggles the mind sometimes. You never know what you'll find in a box from the attic nor that someone half-way around the world might know exactly when or where that photo occurred.
