Catching up 1 of 3: ISAP IX convention Las Vegas

*Part one of three in an attempt to get up to date with my aviation photography exploits*

One of the organizations I recently joined after moving back to the States was the International Association for Aviation Photography- ISAP. I heard about it from an Arizona Aviation Photographers member (Dave Shields, its all his fault) and I was on-board. I later found out that they were having their convention in Las Vegas and that there was a field trip to *gasp* Nellis AFB during a Red Flag exercise. Oh, happy day!

Long story short: I sat in a room with some of the biggest names in aviation photography for 3 solid days: Paul Bowen, Denny Lombard, Jay Miller, Chad Slattery as well as a couple guys I didn't know were into aircraft: Moose Peterson and George Lepp. In addition I was able to listen, learn and talk to some of the most talented photographers in the aviation field. The time spent basking in this environment contained within a conference room was an adventure in itself, but the cherry on top of it all was a trip out to Nellis during one of the last launches of Red Flag 10-3.

As you can see from the small amount of images posted, membership his its privileges! No matter what your interest, find a group that enjoys that field of photography and get involved. You never know what kind of adventures it might lead to!
