Did you hear that?

That great big SIGH as I finished my backlog of digital aircraft shots? Well I assure you it was a very big sigh. Now I still have a small queue of images from my time here in the UK but as far as digital files go, I'm caught up! I say digital as I still have a bunch of film-based images, most notable from a tour of the F-16 ramp at Moody AFB and a cruise on the USS Enterprise to sort through, but that's another project for the future.

So, feel free to follow this link to my Flickr page and browse through some of my favorite shots from a fantastic time spent at Lajes Field in the Azores, Portugal. There are both civilian as well as military aircraft, enough to keep you busy for a bit of time. And here's just a couple of examples for you:

Not ANOTHER blog?!?!!?

It has come to my attention through discussions with both readers and other blogger colleagues that my blog American Yank in England is actually fulfilling two purposes: the original intent of documenting my interactions with the rural aspect of living in England and my love of aviation photography. The two sides, while not totally exclusive of each other, do deserve their own spot in the big game so to speak. So, over the next couple of days I'll be migrating the aviation posts to this blog and let the two sites stand on their own.

An upgrade you might be excited about is that I'll be featuring larger photos. There will be a very subtle watermark across them because there are idiots in the world who feel anything on the Internet is fair game to take without asking (or in my case paying a licensing fee).
